If you are planning to complete part or all of your studies in Australia, you must have a USI (Unique Student Identifier).
USI is a key requirement in the Australian education system. You must have a USI to be eligible to receive your qualification or award. You cannot apply for a USI in China, you must apply for a USI while you are in Australia and before you return home.
When creating your USI, make sure your name matches exactly as shown on your Australian visa. The Australian Government Student Identifiers Registrar has received a high volume of applications for a USI exemption.
Please note: the granting of an exemption is not guaranteed. Do not risk your qualification by failing to apply for a USI while you are in Australia.
