Under the general supervision of the ICT Manager, the ICT Administrative Support Assistant supports the ICT Manager in delivering administrative services to users of the Embassy’s IT and communication systems. Through the delivery of strong client services skills, the ICT Administrative Support Assistant will provide troubleshooting support and advice to Beijing based staff.

The position is based in the Public Affairs (PA) Section at the Australian Embassy in Beijing. The activities and programs of PA are underpinned by DFAT's Public Diplomacy Strategy. The successful candidate will understand China’s state and social media platforms, landscape and key influencers. They will be familiar with social media analytical and/or other relevant analytical tools, and be capable of producing communications products, and regular research and reports. The candidate will lead work to analyse perceptions and narratives on, and Australia’s presence in, China’s social media landscape. This work will help inform Australia’s strategic communications in China. The candidate will be required to present and use this analysis to help prepare and strengthen content for and engagement with Australian Embassy and Consulates’ social media accounts
