The Australian Embassy is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons (Chinese national only) to fill the position of Office Manager, Reserve Bank of Australia. The position will be offered at LE7 level. Annual remuneration for this position is RMB140,244.71 (plus employer social security payments and DSB contributions).

DUTY STATEMENT
Position context and duties
The Reserve Bank of Australia has recently established a representation in China to assist in the Reserve Bank's ongoing monitoring of economic and financial conditions in China, and to help build relationships with various government agencies and private entities.
Duties
Under the general direction of the Counsellor, Reserve Bank of Australia, and in accordance with the contractual employment framework applicable to Locally Engaged Staff (LES) performing roles within the Australian Embassy, the position involves providing high level office coordination, research assistance and administrative support including the following:
1. Field general telephone enquiries, schedule meetings and appointments, organise car bookings and escort visitors;
2. Assist with travel bookings and arrangements;
3. Provide high level language support, including the translation of documents, drafting of Chinese-language documents and interpreting at meetings;
4. Provide records management support, including filing, photocopying and distribution of materials, and budget tracking.
5. Arrange and oversee installation and maintenance of office equipment and facilities, including the purchase of office stationery;
6. Provide support for visits by officers of the Reserve Bank of Australia, including making appointments, assisting with travel and other arrangements;
7. Liaise with other staff within the Australian Embassy, and with staff in the Reserve Bank of Australia’s headquarters in Sydney;
8. Under the direction of the Counsellor, provide research assistance for information/data requests, briefings, and analytical reports on current developments in the Chinese economy, financial system and financial markets;
9. Maintain business contact continuity during periods of staff changes or temporary absences;
10. Help with the arrangements for conferences, seminars and lunches where necessary.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
• Proficiency in English and Chinese, spoken and written, including ability to acquire and use specialist economics and finance terminology in both English and Chinese;
• Demonstrated high level of work output and organisation.
Important
• Interpersonal skills, including an ability to liaise with Australian Embassy colleagues and senior representatives of Australian and Chinese government agencies;
• Proficiency in office management and clerical duties;
• Proficiency with commercially available word processing and spreadsheet software;
• Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision and guidance.
Desirable
• Knowledge of economics, finance and/or banking, and an interest in macroeconomic analysis and policy.
