The summer holiday period is a popular time for organised school or university groups to visit Australia for a study tour. We recommend that you lodge all visa applications as early as possible, preferably 6 weeks before the intended travel date, to avoid disappointment!

Students travelling as part of a study group should apply for the Tourist stream Visitor (subclass 600) visa. Accompanying teachers and staff should apply for the Business Visitor stream Visitor (subclass 600) visa.

You can assist us process these applications more efficiently by

  • Lodging all study tour visa applications online at ImmiAccount
  • Identifying all applicants who are travelling together by selecting the ‘Group processing’ option and choosing the ‘School / study’ Group Type.
  • Providing all supporting documents at time of lodgement including consent documents for minor applicants.

Refer to the following documents for Frequently Asked Questions on Online Visa Lodgement for Groups in China and Study Tour visa processing arrangements in China.
