New Charges for visa and citizenship applications will take effect from 1 January 2016.
The new charges will apply to all visa applications received by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection on and after 1 January 2016. As part of these changes, the Chinese Yuan/Renminbi (CNY) equivalent of the Visa Application Charge (VAC) for a Visitor visa application will decrease. There will also be an increase in the Citizenship by Descent Application Charge from 1 January 2016.
