Spring Festival travel reminders
If you are planning to travel during the Spring Festival holidays, we recommend that you check your visa details carefully before you depart. If your visa details are incorrect, you may not be able to travel to Australia or you may experience delays at the airport.
You can tell us if your passport or your personal details have changed online through your ImmiAccount. If you are unable to update online, refer to Changes in your situation for details on how to notify us.
The Australian Visa Offices in China will be closed for Spring Festival from 29 -31 January. During this time, we will not respond to any enquiries or process any visa applications (including fast-tracked visa applications), however you can still use our online services during this time.
If you need to travel urgently, and have not yet applied for a visa, you may consider using the Fast Track option. This is a premium service providing priority processing to certain Visitor visa (subclass 600) applicants and is subject to an additional fee. You can select this option in ImmiAccount when you lodge your application.
To help us process your application faster, there are things you can do to make sure that when you submit your visa application it is ‘decision ready’. For further information about this, see Check twice, submit once (homeaffairs.gov.au). In most cases, we make a decision using the information provided when an application is lodged and we may not ask for more information.
You should identify all applicants who are travelling together by selecting the ‘Group processing’ option. For more information, see Frequently Asked Questions on Group Lodgement.
You can check current Global Visa Processing Times on our website. Processing times are impacted by changes in application volumes, seasonal peaks, complex cases, and incomplete applications.
