Don’t be sorry, just declare it: visa changes to protect Australia

When travelling to Australia you will need to complete an Incoming Passenger Card. This is a legal document. You must mark YES on your card to declare if you are carrying certain food, plant material or animal items.

Food, plant products and animal material from overseas have the potential to introduce serious pests and diseases into Australia. Biosecurity officers use 3D X-ray machines, detector dogs and inspections to screen travellers and their baggage for harmful pests and diseases. If you don’t comply with our biosecurity laws, you may be fined or you could have your visa cancelled and a ban imposed for up to three years.

For information on what goods you need to declare, visit: https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/can-you-bring-it-in/declare-it

Take the time to view the video and information available at Travelling to Australia

Remember, don’t be sorry, just declare it!
