Important News: Extension of ‘Passport Free’ processing for applications lodged at Shanghai AVAC from 1 July 2014

Back to Visas and Citizenship

From 1 July 2014 all applications lodged in person at both the Shanghai AVAC and the Beijing AVAC will be processed ‘Passport Free’.

This means that your passport will no longer be forwarded to the Australian Visa Office with your application. Colour copies of relevant passport pages will be forwarded in place of the original. The requirement for colour copies applies to applications lodged in person at both Shanghai AVAC and Beijing AVAC.

Applicants may provide their own copies or use photocopy facilities available at the AVAC (fees apply).

For more information, please refer to the relevant checklists. See: Applying for a visa to Australia
