Drinking Water for Community and Livestock in Inner Mongolia

The project has built four water wells (the deepest is 120m) and one underground water reservoir in Tukemu Village, Inner Mongolia. Tukemu is located in a desert area where access to water is difficult for low income families. The project has enabled more than 300 people and 1,900 heads of livestock to have better access to safe drinking water.

 

Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Livelihood Development Project in a Poor Minority Village in Xinjiang

The project has assisted poor Uyghur villagers in Maigaiti County, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. It provided training in pigeon breeding to 150 poor households. With the support of the project, a cooperative association for pigeon breeding has been established. The project also conducted skill training in embroidery for 80 women, which has empowered them by building their capacity to generate income.

 

Mengxiang Zhai Village Safe Drinking Water Project

Mengxiang Zhai Village is located in a mountainous area in Guizhou Province. The village comprises 171 people living in 46 households where access to safe drinking water has been very difficult. The project built two water tanks, two small weirs and water distribution pipes to provide safe drinking water for the villagers and their 35 livestock.
